The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.
-Proverbs 18:17 (CSB)
Welcome back,
I have good news and bad news as it pertains to my next article for Indonesian and American. The bad news is that I decided to scrap an article. The good news is that I decided to scrap an article.
Now to be honest, it’s not like I’m scrapping an entire novel or even a short story. For this one, I had written almost 800 words:
By my estimate, I was about halfway done with that article; so it should have around 1,500 words by time I completed it. Not to brag, but that’s chump change by my standards.
But that’s not the point. I’ve spent hours researching, writing, taking screenshots, and so on. And I decided to flush all that work down the drain.
Why?
Simple. The example that I wanted to use to illustrate my point in that article, I’m beginning to doubt that I have the full story. The YouTuber1 whom I used as an authority for all that turned out to be an absolute scumbag who has a history of lying. Furthermore, that person is currently embroiled in some legal trouble because that person decided to pick a fight with someone who’s not afraid to punch back (legally speaking). I won’t put out names because at this point, I can’t be 100% sure if what I know now is even the complete truth.
Thus, I cannot in good conscience complete and publish the article I had in mind. It’s back to the drawing board for me.
Until next time,
Michael P. Marpaung

That’s what I get for using a YouTuber as a source, lol.
